Called Self-Heal or Heal-All this plant is a member of the mint family. It is native to Europe, Asia, North Africa and North America. It is reported to have medicinal properties and parts of the plant are edible. The Self Heal plant has been used in alternative medicine for centuries.

Freeze branding uses a branding iron to mark a brand on a horse. As opposed to the old method of heat branding freeze branding  is painless to the horse. It works by destroying the hair pigment cells causing the hair to grow back white. For white or grey horses the branding iron will be applied for a longer period which prevents future hair growth resulting in a brand that looks like a hot iron brand.

Canadian Geese on their southward migration. Every year approximately 100 Canadian Geese spend the winter on a neighbors pond. They spend their days in pastures eating tender newly sprouted winter wheat. A few of the geese stay on the pond year round.
